For the first time in its history, the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce joined the High-Commission of Canada in the 2019 London Pride Parade to Celebrate 50 years since the birth of the modern LGBT+ rights movement.
The High-Commission of Canada was the first diplomatic mission to take part in the London Pride Parade back in 2017.
This year, more than 1.5 million people attended the parade in the streets of central London for pride, marching, dancing and laughing to campaign for the freedoms that will allow them to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing.
The Chamber was represented in the parade by:
Leslie Stephenson, Chamber Chair Diversity & Inclusion Forum and Head of Governance & Control
Remediation Management Office UK, HSBC,
Wanda Hamilton, CEO, Canada-UK Foundation,
Jeff Surprenant, Events & Membership Co-ordinator, Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber is very grateful to the High Commission of Canada for this opportunity to join the London Pride Parade.
