HSBC's Corporate Art Collection

gallery 768x576

HSBC’s art collection reflects the changes made throughout the company’s history, from its establishment in the Far East through to its acquisition of Midland Bank in 1992. The collection is rich in both Chinese and British art. During the evening there will be a talk by Mr Daniel Lancaster, Art Manager, Employee Insight & Communications, HSBC Holdings PLC which will illuminate the scope of the collection and will focus in particular on nine extraordinary paintings by Lowry. Members and invited guests will then have an opportunity to explore the rest of the collection, which includes works by Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant and Walter Sickert.

The mission of the Canada–UK Foundation is to foster a greater understanding of Canada in the UK through education. We have a broad strategic focus and work to create partnerships linking the academic and non-academic worlds to foster an understanding of Canada and its contributions across a wide range of subjects. Our main three programme areas are Arctic Alive including the soon to be launched in the UK Students on Ice in partnership with the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, our academic awards programme and the Canadian Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fellowship with the University of Cambridge. In addition, we assist ad hoc projects such as supporting First Nations musicians to perform in the UK and indigenous designers exhibit their creations at London Fashion Week. Arctic Alive has reached thousands of primary students in the UK and teaches British pupils about Canada’s North while shedding light on British Arctic exploration and climate change developments.
