Cookies Policy

What are Cookies?

Cookies and other similar tracking technologies are small text files or code placed on your device (e.g. computer, smartphone or other electronic device) when you use our website or app or view a message. Cookies allow a website or app to recognise a particular device.

Our use of Cookies

We use cookies and other similar tracking technologies such as web beacons and single-pixel gifs on our website. These help us recognise you and your device and store some information about your preferences or past actions.

For example, we may monitor how many times you visit our website, which pages you go to, traffic data, location data and the originating domain name of your internet service provider. This information helps us to build a profile of our users. Some of this data will be aggregated or statistical, which means that we will not be able to identify you individually.

You can set your browser not to accept cookies and our websites below tell you how to remove cookies from your browser. However, some of our website features may not function as a result.

For further information on our use of cookies and other similar tracking technologies, including a detailed list of your information which we and others may collect through cookies, please see below.

What we use cookies for

We use cookies and other similar tracking technologies to:

  • recognise you whenever you visit our website;
  • obtain information about your preferences and use of our website;
  • carry out research and statistical analysis to help improve our content and services and to help us better understand our users’ requirements; and
  • make your online experience more efficient and enjoyable.
Types of cookies

The cookies we place on your device fall into the following categories:

  • Analytical cookies . They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.
  • Functionality cookies . These are used to recognise you when you return to our website. This enables us to personalise our content for you, greet you by name and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
  • Targeting cookies . These cookies record your visit to our website, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make our website and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose.
  • Cookies for Adverts or logos . We may have a number of spots around the site that show advertisements or logos from companies, members or Charter members of the Canada-United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce, other chambers of commerce or other non-profit organisations. We use cookies to track which adverts have been visited or which logos have been clicked.
  • Third Party Cookies . Other companies offering and advertising their products or services on our website, may also download cookies on to your equipment. These companies will have their own privacy policies which will govern the way they use their cookies. We accept no responsibility or liability for these sites to the maximum extent permitted by law.

You can find more information about the individual cookies we use and the purposes for which we use them in the table below:
