Dear Members & Friends of the Chamber
“Canada and the UK share a longstanding, resilient and growing commercial relationship, built on trust, shared values, and a commitment to open and inclusive trade. The UK is one of the most important markets for Canadian exporters and investors, and our bilateral trade and investment are on a steady increase year over year. The Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce is central to growing our economic relationship with the UK and supporting the close ties between businesses large and small on both sides of the Atlantic. On this Canada Day, I congratulate the Chamber team for a stellar year, and wish a happy Canada Day to all of its members.”
— The Honourable Bill Blair, on his first Canada Day in London
Happy 159th Birthday, Canada!
In honour of Canada Day, this edition of our newsletter is focused on celebrating Canada. Canadian businesses make up a significant portion of our membership. We are proud to work alongside such a dynamic community and are especially grateful to the Canadian High Commission for its continued support. The Canada–UK relationship is both historic and forward-looking, and we are excited to mark another year of shared success and Canadian excellence.
Prime Minister Carney expressed his thanks to Prime Minister Starmer for his 'public service and friendship' following his resignation. We echo those sentiments and look forward to working with his successor. Read more here.
Finally, World Cup successes continue for England and Canada, with Canada through to the knockout stages for the first time ever!
