It is my pleasure to introduce this Provincial Edition of Success Stories Canada-UK, a showcase of pioneering companies whose achievements reflect the extraordinary depth and diversity of commerce between our two nations and globally.
Here, readers will encounter organisations that lead their fields and embody the collaborative spirit that defines the Canada-UK relationship. While of course trade happens across all our magnificent Canadian provinces and territories, for this edition we focus on Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan, that is to say the provinces with a trade and investment office in the United Kingdom.
From the engineering brilliance of Arup to the aviation expertise of Bombardier; from Canaccord Genuity’s global investment reach to Canada Goose’s craftsmanship and design; from the digital intelligence of Global Relay and OpenText to the entrepreneurial energy of Shopify and Cultivator—each story represents a distinct facet of shared enterprise.
Standing perhaps at the heart of this network is Dadco, one of the Chamber’s longest standing and most respected members. For decades, Dadco has exemplified industrial excellence and continuity, supplying alumina-based products worldwide and maintaining a steadfast commitment to innovation and partnership. It is a reminder that enduring relationships—built both on trust and technical mastery—remain the foundation of transatlantic commerce.
Rounding out the success stories are several of the Chamber’s leading lights and some new members: Kinnear Financial, a private investment firm with deep expertise in resource-based ventures; McLeod Law, a distinguished Calgary practice known for its integrity and client focus; Oliver Wyman, a global authority in strategic and management consulting; and Virgin Atlantic, a powerful symbol of connection linking our economies, people, and ideas.
Together, these organisations illustrate both the longevity and the vitality of our membership—where experience and fresh ambition continuously reinforce one another. This publication invites you to explore their journeys – to learn how Canadian, British, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish (UK) ingenuity and capability combine to advance technology, sustainability, and prosperity across borders.
Their stories remind us that the most successful partnerships are built not only on trade, but on trust, shared values, and vision. For more than a century, the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce has been proud to provide the forum where such connections take root and thrive. Further details about our work, events, and member network can be found in the accompanying “About the Chamber” section.
As you read these pages, I encourage you to see in them both inspiration and invitation—to engage, collaborate, and write the next chapter of this enduring success story.
